How do these have a 64-87% guess rate? I had no idea about most of these, I knew 4 of these and guessed 2 more right. I guess most of the quiz takers are Americans?
What, the Oberlin Otters? Columbia Cockatiels? (No offense to Oberlin or Columbia. Maybe they have sports teams. I wouldn't know.) Really easy quiz, though.
Exactly, ander217. I knew all but 2 of them because of college football, or with Johns Hopkins, because of their dominance in college lacrosse. I have friends in Pittsburgh, so I knew to associate Carnegie with PA, and Oberlin was a guess, though for some reason, Ohio rang a bell somewhere in the back of my mostly-empty head.
States made this quiz a breeze for me, though thinking back (Northwestern, Notre Dame, Rice....) I could've also named the cities they're in, too. (Evanston, South Bend, Houston, for example)
I'm not a college sports fan (although I am a college student at a university where sports are big), but I got all of them. Most of these are pretty famous, at least where I live. I think that statement is true for a lot of people living the Northeast-Midwest region--just look at how many of these schools fall into that area! And of the schools that don't fall in this region, Stanford and Duke are pretty famous, and William/Mary and Rice are also arguably well known.
I'm American and have two kids in college. I thought it was SUPER easy, but it was probably geared toward someone like me. I wouldn't know it if they were universities anywhere other than the US.
Or, ya know, just Americans. Higher learning is big business as are its sports. You don't need to be college edjumencated to know where most of these schools are.
This is the first one of these multiple choice quizzes I've gotten more than 50% on, and that's mostly just because I just finished the grad school application cycle and finally settled on one that I'm pleased to say is on this list.

Great quiz
