Hiragana Practice

The following hiragana characters are in random order. Please write the rōmaji (transliteration) in each yellow box.
If the characters don't display properly, you either don't have a font with Japanese characters installed, or your browser is not set to the right coding.

Got them all with 44 seconds to spare. I'm pleased to know I still remember them even though I haven't practised Japanese for two years!

It's been 6 years since I finished Japanese classes. 57 seconds to spare. I'm glad to know I only forgot vocab.

As someone who doesn't speak or write Japanese, I just got A I U E O, and gave up immediately afterwards.

What? "Tsu" for す? That's not correct at all.

Yeah... I know but the pronunciation sounds kinda same and it's confusing (~_~メ)

Cool quiz, the randomisation makes it a lot more interesting too.

I can read that, but I only got 17 on the quiz. There needs to be more time.

I don't actually know any hiragana, I just spent my time typing in various syllables and pressing tab until I found the right one, haha. I got 5 (to, hi, shi, n, and no). It'll be interesting to compare my scores when I actually start trying to learn Japanese.

I don't speak, write, understand, or read in Japanese. I got 1 correct by reading the comments (su).

Got them all in 24 s.

The trick is to be fluent in Japanese.
