Dang it! I couldn't think of Will and Grace, I was hung up on Dharma and Greg.

You should consider accepting 'Yev Kassem' for 'The Soup Nazi.' It was his character's real name on the show.

Totally agree.

It probably should be accepted....but if someone knows Yev Kassem (which was only used once - in the finale), certainly you know he's the soup Nazi. To paraphrase the Quizmaster, common sense is required for all featured quizzes.

We were obviously watching very different shows in the '90s. I scored a whopping 4.

I definitely did better with 1980s. As bad as I did with 1990s, I know I'm going to bomb with 2000s and 2010s. I watch even less than I did in 1990s.

Just took it again and scored zero. That's worrisome.

You Should Accept Erckel or Erkel, because I tried many variations and didn't think of putting a U at the beginning.

Ellen came out before Will and Grace.

So maybe Will and Grace was still the first TV show to have openly-gay lead characters (plural)?

After trying Ellen, I correctly guessed Will & Grace, but saying's it's Will & Grace, semantically, simply because of using plural is a little misleading. I didn't watch Ellen, was there anyone else gay in the main character lineup?

Al In The Family, Maude and Soap, among others, had gay characters in the 1970s.

If I remember correctly (and I'm not saying I am) Ellen came out during the run of the show but not actively lived as gay (just announced she was). Will and Grace had gay characters that lived as gay characters and dated. It might be splitting hairs but saying it and being it is the difference between being openly gay.

I guess it's a question of whether you consider Ellen to be playing a character rather than just being herself? That being said, I also tried Ellen first

What about the very special episode where Jessie Spano sang "Zack Morris is trash"?

Were Batman and Robin not considered "open?" And what's that cab question about? Is that from The Fresh Prince?
