There are many synonyms for "savannah", including veldt, grassland, plain, steppe, flatland, and such (Wikipedia). That last question seems just a bit broad, but it may just be me.
The description might be broad, but in quiz you'd always look for a more specific answer if available. Steppe/veld/prairie is something different (no trees), grassland and plain are way too general.
yeah you might as well say "outside" is a synonym for savannah. Just because something can be replaced with something else in a sentence does not mean they are the same thing.
"Site of a wildebeest migration" I read that as "site of a wild beast migration". After a little research I found that wildebeest is an animal which I call gnu. I guessed the right answer anyway.
I missed serengeti because I spelled it serengetti. I guess I was thinking of spaghetti. That might make an interesting fusion dish, though - African-style spaghetti called serenghetti.
I've only ever seen Serengeti used in reference to Tanzania. In Kenya, it's known as the Maasai Mara (with the Mara being the river that is the gift to all those nature shows - and to crocodiles - during the wildebeest migration).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Masai Mara is just a national park, but the area itself is called Serengeti. That's why Masai Mara isn't a correct answer since it's only in Kenya but the Serengeti is in both Kenya and Tanzania
(and veldt is basicly just field)
Phew.
