Gah, I didn't think of Puerto Rico either because it's not an independent country.

Rocked that quiz! Only missed 3. Probably helps that my gf is Colombian and I just got back from a trip in Bogota!

MIAMI!?!?! Can a city be considered Spanish-speaking if the official language is English? That makes no sense.

it asks for cities where "Spanish is the most commonly spoken language." Technically, the US doesn't have an official language anyway.

There is no official language in the United States nor is there in Miami. Even if there were, that would not magically reduce the number of people there who speak Spanish.

English is not the official language of Miami. There are no official languages in the US, outside "English-only" Utah.

Guatemala City is a border case. On one hand, their metro population is 3.7 million, according to Wikipedia. However, they don't appear on Wikipedia's list of urban areas with more than 2 million people. My guess is that the 3.7 million number includes the surrounding countryside.

I wrote Havanna (for some reason) and Habana. Kinda scratching my head over why I didn't go with the most obvious one. Still, Habana is the Spanish name, isn't it? Maybe it should count as well?

In my Spanish classes I was taught it was spelled Havana and pronounced Habana.

actually, it says "where Spanish is the most commonly spoken language" - and I'm sure that no matter how many Spanish-speakers there are in Miami, English is more commonly spoken

Obviously you've never been in Miami. You can live there without knowing a word in English. If you can't speak Spanish there you will struggle a lot.

I don't think Barcelona belongs here. The most commonly spoken language there is Catalan--which is related to Spanish in much the same way that Portuguese is. And while all the residents of Barcelona may be able to speak Spanish, that doesn't make Spanish the most widely spoken language.
