The small intestine is long and has the most surface area, but in regards to how much space it takes up in the body, liver definitely takes the gold. Ive done rat, frog and fetal pig dissections and Im always surprised by how big the liver is.

i would think the lungs are far larger - they when all the surface area is laid out - as large as a tennis court - and they take up most of your ribcage (barr the heart and blood vessels)
