Its kind of shocking how little Colombia trades with Venezuela.

No Argentina was pretty surprising too. I know they don't border each other, but Argentina's a pretty big player in S. America.

Argentina is basically broke, and Venezuela is near collapse. Each is starved of hard currency (i.e. USD mainly) and so cannot effect much cross-border trade. Venezuela exports oil but Colombia has its own to a large extent, and Argentina really only exports agricultural products - but it must first feed its own population since it has little currency to spend abroad. On the other hand, Colombia is doing quite well economically - especially in relative terms.

Interesting. I never knew Argentina was in such a bad situation.

Argentina is doing bad, but it's nowhere near what Venezuela is going through.

Colombia still has big inequality and social problems. Not as bad as Venezuela, but nothing to feel proud for (for the record I am colombian). Hoping to find the road to improve our situation.

I love Colombia. One of my favorite places to visit. It's safe, beautiful, and the people are wonderful.

I wouldn't say that Colombia is particularly safe, but it isn't as dangerous as other places.

How much of the 1.54billion exported to Netherlands is sold in cafés?
+4

Proportionately, about as much as the $10.1 Billion exported to the US is sold in nightclubs and bodegas.

Probably because Russia's main export is oil while India has a much more diversified economy, at least compared to Russia's.

Netherlands often shows up on the biggest import column and high up the list, too. In spite of their small population. Are the Dutch such ravenous consumers or is it just that the goods are being funneled through Rotterdam and then redistributed to the rest of Europe?

Both. Rotterdam is (still) by far the biggest port in Europe and Germany as a neighbour doesn't hurt. Amsterdam Airport is also one of the larger airports (both passenger as well as cargo). In addition the population is not that small and the country produces a surprisingly high number of goods (and services). For example agriculture production is extremely efficient and much higher than you'd expect based on the country's size.

I was wondering if it could be including the ABC islands, which are obviously near Colombia geographically.
