Dashing through the snow, on a one horse open sleigh
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Where the treetops glisten / And children listen
Tis the season to be jolly / Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
You better watch out / You better not cry
You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen
Sleigh bells ring / are you listening
Oh the weather outside is frightful
Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing / ring ting tingle-ing too
Sign your 'X' on the line, Santa cutie / and hurry down the chimney tonight
Glad tidings we bring / to you and your kin
Faithful friends who are dear to us / gather near to us once more
There must have been some magic / in that old silk hat they found
City sidewalks, busy sidewaks / Dressed in holiday style
The little lord Jesus laid down his sweet head
And heaven and nature sing
O come, let us adore Him
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

You should include Adeste Fideles as an alternative to O Come All Ye Faithful. It sounds so good in Latin: Adeste fideles Laeti triumphantes Venite, venite In Bethlehem.

"... natum videtes, regnum angelorum, venite adoremos, venite adoremos, venite adoremos, dominum." Or something like that. Anyway, yeah, agreed, "Adeste Fideles" should be accepted. The Latin version of the song is at least as common as the English version, and I sometimes see the Latin name listed even in cases where the English lyrics are being used. (And while Quizmaster is at it, I see no harm in accepting "Stille Nacht" for "Silent Night" as well.)
Dec 15, 2012
Also agreed. The Latin version is better.
May 27, 2013
Agreed (as a dorky nerd)
Sep 17, 2014

Dec 19, 2014
Agreed as a choir nerd. I couldn't even remember the English words lol
Dec 19, 2014
If we're considering Latin, then the lyrics quoted should be in Latin too. If not then it's the English version!! And where is Personent Hodie?? and In Dulci Jubilo?
Dec 20, 2014
Agreed (as an Englishman)

Mar 19, 2014
I like it. We do it with the kids at the library with, you guessed it, bells. We love it.
Mar 30, 2015
It's hard to get the title while listening to OTHER Christmas songs at the same time. :)
Dec 19, 2012
No "grandma got run over" ? Feliz navidad? when I lived in San Francisco, I swear those are the only two songs that were played.
May 9, 2013
Only missed Sleigh Ride... I knew the song, but couldn't think of the title.
May 27, 2013
what about "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus, underneath the mistletoe last night?"
Jul 12, 2013
away in THE manger is not acceptable?
Oct 18, 2013
The correct lyrics and song title are "Away in a Manger".
Feb 9, 2014
With all the other variations that are allowed, I think "away in the manger" should be accepted. I typed it twice, moved on then came back and sang the whole song still saying "the".
Dec 19, 2014
I went and played my CD with all of these on just after I finished this quiz... And it's August
Aug 27, 2014
Got 'em all. My Grinch of a mother would be disappointed. She tried so valiantly to keep me from Christmas.
