Lyric
Song
Dashing through the snow, on a one horse open sleigh
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Where the treetops glisten / And children listen
Tis the season to be jolly / Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
You better watch out / You better not cry
You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen
Sleigh bells ring / are you listening
Oh the weather outside is frightful
Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing / ring ting tingle-ing too
Sign your 'X' on the line, Santa cutie / and hurry down the chimney tonight
Glad tidings we bring / to you and your kin
Faithful friends who are dear to us / gather near to us once more
There must have been some magic / in that old silk hat they found
City sidewalks, busy sidewaks / Dressed in holiday style
The little lord Jesus laid down his sweet head
And heaven and nature sing
O come, let us adore Him
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

You should include Adeste Fideles as an alternative to O Come All Ye Faithful. It sounds so good in Latin: Adeste fideles Laeti triumphantes Venite, venite In Bethlehem.

"... natum videtes, regnum angelorum, venite adoremos, venite adoremos, venite adoremos, dominum." Or something like that. Anyway, yeah, agreed, "Adeste Fideles" should be accepted. The Latin version of the song is at least as common as the English version, and I sometimes see the Latin name listed even in cases where the English lyrics are being used. (And while Quizmaster is at it, I see no harm in accepting "Stille Nacht" for "Silent Night" as well.)

If we're considering Latin, then the lyrics quoted should be in Latin too. If not then it's the English version!! And where is Personent Hodie?? and In Dulci Jubilo?

With all the other variations that are allowed, I think "away in the manger" should be accepted. I typed it twice, moved on then came back and sang the whole song still saying "the".
