It didn't accept "New York City" for me, either. But it gave me credit for "nyc". Go figure.

Quizmaster, can you please add "New York" as an acceptable answer? That's a little ridiculous.

This is how we Brits (and pretty much the rest of the world) feel when the quizzes are 30-50% American, and normally with at least 10% we haven't heard of.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a massive fun park situated overlooking the Irish Sea on the Lancashire coast. It was started in 1896 and has been owned and run by the Thompson family since its opening. Renowned for its many large big-dipper style rides and multitude of sideshows etc.

I'm not sure that the Kaaba could quite be classified as a "tourist attraction." I think it's more of a pilgrimage site.

Aren't pilgrims a particular brand of tourist?
+1

Yes, pilgrims are tourists by most definitions. Just like businessmen, congress participants and "I'm a traveller not a tourist"

As for the Budweiser Brewery clue, St. Louis happens to be the most famous and the birth place. There are probably 12-15 breweries across the US. A couple here in California but U never thought to type Fairfield or Van Nuys.

Where do you think the name Budweis comes from, genius?

I suppose that original Budweiser brewery is in Czech town called Česke Budejovice. And its German name is Böhmisch Budweis.

I've been to Notre Dame cathedrals in Paris, Reims, Strasbourg and Chartres. I've also been to a Budweiser brewery in Columbus, OH.

There are Notre-Dame cathedrals in practically every city in France. Arguably the Paris one is by far the most famous. (But Amiens, my favourite, is the biggest.)

Could you allow Budweis as well? That Czech city brews Budweiser beer there (just to make it more complicated, Anheuser-Busch, an American firm despite sounding European, tried to trademark "Budweiser" in Europe but couldn't because it's already Czech).

16/22. I've never heard the term "Golden Pavilion Temple" but I figured it meant Kinkaku-ji, which is correct. I suppose Kinkaku-ji translates to that in English, but who the hell calls it that?

There are no pyramids in Guatemala City. There are Mayan pyramids in northern Guatemala, but no cities to speak of. The Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon are both on the edge of Mexico City and its Aztec name was Teotihuacan.

A tad too American centric. You could replace a few of the American options with something like the statue of Chirst the redeemer in Rio, Robben Island in Cape Town or the Moai of Easter Island as both Africa and South America seem to have been omitted.
