It's probably tougher after seeing an incorrect spelling rather than just hearing the word.

I have no idea why I know how to spell yarmulke, but it helped me get 28/28!

I could probably spell some of these correctly, but seeing the incorrect spelling threw me off a little. Good quiz!

Very hard when the wrong spelling is right in front of you... Especially racing against the clock O_O I only got 21/28.

johnnyaitch is exactly right. I had to stop looking at the word and close my eyes to visualize it. Once you see it misspelled it completely throws you off. Great quiz!

I also agree with it being harder when looking at the word. Also I know what a yarmulke is and how to spell it. I just didn't know what word you were going for.

Huh. Under "Yamaka", I was thinking the ATV brand.

I was stumped by "segway", since a segway is a thing. But to be fair, I wasn't familiar with the spelling of segue either.

No, keep the "segway" hint the way it is, It's their own fault if they're not aware that it's not just the vehicle and that the vehicle's spelling is constantly used as that of the actually word. 24/28 on my first try; the only ones I missed were the ones that I didn't realize were words in the first place.

segue - a smooth and direct transistion, and that's not a dictionary definition. that's just the context in which I have always heard it.

actually it's used in music composition quite a bit. but there are many apps for it.

Seeing Hallelujah spelled hallaluja, i couldn't even figure out what the word was xD

archeology is an actually thing.. its: "the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains." so you should probably change the miss spelling to a different form of archaeology.

So close, the only one I didn't get was Yarmulke. Normally every quiz on this site has a bunch of idiots in the comment section harping on about how this or that misspelling should be accepted because they're too ignorant to learn the right way. Hopefully this shuts them up.

the only way I could decently get through this was to quickly look at the word and spell it how i thought it was

I hear ya! After I saw the misspelled word, I would completely forget how to accurately spell it! So I would have to visualize the word in my mind. lol

got 26! didn't know what yarmulke or belwether were so didn't get them right. Fun game!

Gah! I almost didn't get yarmulke because "yamaka" looks nothing like it. It sounds Japanese. :/ And segue I didn't get because I had no idea what it was, and since segway is a thing. And bellwether I had no idea what it was. :(
