Lots of errors in this quiz:
Cyprus is not in Asia - it's part of the EU - unless you're being ridiculously picky about the contested part of Turkish Cyprus.
Timor Leste needs to be accepted for East Timor.
Myanmar needs to be accepted for Burma - that's the name used by the country, therefore is technically its official name.

Okay, Timor-Leste will work now.

I agree that Myanmar should be accepted as well as perhaps including Russia in which is in Eurasia after all...

I'm tempted to agree with you, seeing as Russia does span the entirety of Northern Asia and only encompasses around 40% of Europe; however, I believe the reason it's included as a European country and not an Asian country is because most of the inhabitants of Russia live within Europe. Most of Russia's land in Asia is Siberia and uninhabitable. I think for simplicities sake, it's kept as a European nation for quiz purposes.

Find even one map of Asia that does not include Russia. You can't.

When my junta takes over America, I'm going to rename it the United States of Quizmaster and make everyone call it that. :)

Tell 'em, Quizmaster! Myanmar is the name that the military junta wants the country to be called. I say screw 'em. It's Burma. When the people of Burma have a vote and want it to be called Myanmar, I'll do it.

most of them are difficult to spell correctly, when translating to english if english language is not your native. for example azerbaidjan, azerbaizan, and so on :(

Myanmar is not the official name according to the CIA web site. Still it should be accepted as should Timor Leste. Also, not including Russia on a countries of Asia quiz is ridiculous. So what if "most of it's citizens live in the European part of Russia". Geographically, it's as big a part of Asia as any other country on here.

Cyprus is not an Asian country..
it makes no sense not having Russia in the list and having Cyprus..
75% of Russia is in Asia with way over 40 million people living even in Siberia, Cyprus (with a population of staggering 1,1 million people of which 77% are "Greek") on the other hand is a part of Europe and European union

You're right. And so are Armenia and Azerbaijan, as all 3 were in the European part of the Soviet Union prior to it's break up in 1990.

Since when is the Middle East, seperated by Europe no less, a part of Asia?

Wait, do you mean to say the middle east is separated from Asia by Europe?? Seriously recommend we all review the following wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_boundaries

The Middle East has always been part of Asia. Why? What continent did you think it was in???
Jan 10, 2013 delete reply

I missed Cyprus because in fact it is not usually considered part of Asia, and my first guess, Russia, is not on the list when in fact it is always considered part of Asia. Just because part of the country is considered European doesn't mean the other part of the country doesn't exist...

Wtf no Russia? That's ridiculous considering Russia contains more Asian territory than any Asian country including China!!! Seriously come on if someone only knew the extent of Asia based on this quiz they'd be missing around 20-30% percent of the entire continent!!!!

Quizmaster
Not by population they wouldn't. Got to draw the line somewhere. Most of the population of Russia is in Europe. If I have to put Russia in one continent or another, it's gonna be Europe. Quizmaster out.

Yeah I see your point, Russia IS historically closer to Europe, but is it so hard to allow a country to be in 2 continents?

I completely agree. Cyprus is an EU member so clear both Cyprus and the EU consider it to be part of Europe.
As for Russia, well, on a map it looks more in Asia, but I understand the arguments for Europe too. Just goes to show how arbitrarily we (humans) like to divide things up. Same for Asia vs Oceania.

How about, to avoid confusion, you state "Asia and the Mid-East" in the quiz instructions? I was down to the last minute before I started adding in the "stan"s.
