Ps, "The Office" is a British comedy series, reworked and recast for America. I did wonder for a second why you would have an answer of "Ricky Gervais" on a quiz about Steve's lol.
Lots of British shows are reworked for the US, and vice versa. If this was a Ricky quiz, then obviously it would have been asking about the British version. Since it couldn't be Gervaise, then the next obvious answer for you should have been Carell. See both lists here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_television_series_based_on_American_television_series and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_television_series_based_on_British_television_series. Since you apparently don't like US-centric questions, you will probably be happy to see that the British list made into US shows is longer. :)
Why would the limited BBC remake big budget Hollywood? English TV programs only have about 3 to 6 episodes every year. It would take 60 years to remake M*A*S*H. Klinger would look way older than a 52-year old 20-year old by the time that was done.
Clearly that's a matter of opinion rather than fact. Personally I find the British version funny. I've not seen the American version so can't comment on that.
Gutsy move to call someone the best of anything while they are still active! Steph Curry will probably be a good shooter throughout his career, but will he remain the highest percentage ever as he gets older? Good question. Also, once the nature of the NBA business breaks up the dominance of Golden State in years to come, Steph will receive much more attention from the defense, which tends to bring down the shooting percentage.
And the answer is wrong in any event. Luckily for the Quizmaster the correct answer is Steve Kerr, with a career three point percentage of 45.4%, several points higher than Curry at 43.6%
Percentage is important, but it's not the only thing that matters. Steve Kerr made a total of 726 3-pointers in his entire 15-year career. In nine years, Curry has made nearly three times as many, while still being in the top 5 for career percentage. Kerr isn't even in the top 150 players in terms of total 3-pointers made in his career.
When it comes to career stats, percentage is what counts. The exception would be Pete Rose's total hits. Did it make him the best hitter of all time? Nope, just the most prolithic
i tried Kerr first, but as soon as that didn't work i knew it had to be Curry. still, it should accept Kerr, since he's the most accurate three point shooter ever.
Other Steves that could fit on this quiz: Harvey (comedian/game show host), Perry (lead singer of Journey when they were good), Sondheim (composer and lyricist), Soderbergh (film director), Wozniak (the other guy from Apple), Buscemi (actor), Harris (bassist and songwriter of Iron Maiden).
Also, I wonder how many people guessed Steve Austin thinking of the wrestler, before looking at the clues, and ended up getting the Father of Texas one by accident.
It might be nice to add another couple of feminine names to the mix like Steffi (Stefani) Graf or Stephanie Powers (my generation's Girl From UNCLE and partner in Hart to Hart.)
please accept Steve Kerr for greatest three point shooter ever. Kerr is still the all-time leader in three point shooting percentage, which technically makes him the greatest ever. Curry is fourth.
Please make the clue about Hugh Laurie read 'Hugh Laurie's 'partner in crime' and comedy' as a reference to one of their intros where Stephen refers to Hugh as his 'partner in crime' and then very vehemently denies any criminal activity
Ask Kerr who the greatest shooter of all time is. Guarantee you he (and any other person with basketball knowledge) will tell you it is Curry. Kerr was mostly just a catch-and-shoot spot up shooter.
And I'm a Celtics fan and greatly dislike the Warriors, so this is not some fan's opinion.
What's a three-pointer shooter? Is "Stephen Curry" an outlaw?
No but seriously, there's always a couple of insanely worded and specific questions for anyone not from the US of A. Wish Quizmaster would avoid being so close-minded sometimes...
And I missed Stephen Curry because he pronounces his name "Steffan" and I was trying to think of someone named "Steven."
