Shouldn't her be changed to hers or him be changed to he?

Nope - Think of it like "His name is . . . " vs. "Her name is . . ."

Very interesting, never heard of fishwife, that's hilarious terminology!
Apr 24, 2012  delete  reply
Almost as funny as fishmonger itself

Can you allow dutchess? I knew the word, just didn't know how to spell it. New masseuse too
Apr 24, 2012  delete  reply
Same here. Forgot the E at the end of masseuse.

"Dutchess" is incorrect.

Ha!Ha! I was just thinking that. I'm gonna walk up to a lady today and call her that and find out what happens!

Got them all but one straight away and then spent 3 min trying to think of the female equivalent for aviator... And I failed. I can't believe I've never heard that word before.

that being said i think the aviatrix is a bit unfair... if you look at anything referring to female aviators it calls them just that 'female aviator' the only reason i guessed that correctly is knowing latin endings for male/female (e.g. executor/executrix)

Niece is spelt wrong. You have "neice", should be "niece".

Yes, the lesser known yet equally malevolent Lestrange sister...

25/30 didn't get the last three, feeling like an idiot I didn't get nun, and for lad all I could think of was ladette! Probably showing the state of British culture somewhat...

I always thought it was just masseuse. I didn't realize it was gender-specific. But anyways, 24/30. Good quiz!

Didn't get succubus and aviatrix. I knew aviatrix, but didn't know how to spell it! I suggest you add master/mistress and dominator/dominatrix.
Apr 25, 2012  delete  reply
Mm, yes, but someone might object strongly to seeing "dominatrix" as the answer to a quiz.

Fishwife! That's a new one for me. I kept singing Molly Malone in my head, hoping that a word other than fishmonger would pop up, but no.
