If you're gonna have the big 4, at least put football not soccer. Since they aren't 'soccer' teams

Only 42. I appreciated the Godfather and the Sex and the City questions. Some things I knew but had forgotten. Like I guessed Romani and didn't get Romansh. And I guessed "small" molars... XD Couldn't remember dammit.

@annie1892 it's called soccer in america, as well as several other countries including austraia. though they don't call it soccer in england, it's still the same sport.

Pretty sure she's sometimes called 'The Invisible Girl', I wrote that first before I tried woman. Just saying.

I agree with griffey5050, cuspids for the teeth question. I also didn't know there was a fourth state of matter. There wasn't when I went to school, and I graduated in 2002. But that's the great thing about science, always changing as new discoveries are made (not sarcasm).

I grew up learning the teeth between canines and molars as "bicuspids", not premolars. FWIW, the Wikipedia article for premolars begins, "The premolar teeth or bicuspids are transitional teeth located..."

Cuspid and bicuspid will work now. Thanks!

If you want to start getting pedantic about whether it should be soccer or football, 43 of the 45 FIFA countries whose official or primary language is English use football, USA and Canada are the only ones to use soccer. It is also used as a loanword in languages such as French, Spanish, Portugese etc. to refer to association football. So really it should be football not soccer. I don't particularly care, but it does annoy me when Americans (and I am by no means accusing all Americans of being like this at all, it is just an observation of a few people on this site and others that I have noticed) assume that because in America it is soccer that should be the universal term, when most of the rest of the world use football.

@jadekelly, this is an American site. Therefore, American terminology should be used.

in phases of matter shouldn't other states be addressed such as einstein-bose condensate?
2011-10-03 | reply
SafariMarti
@annie1892 and @jadekelly Considering that this is an American site created by Americans and that we already have a sport called football it's not surprising that they used the word soccer

I didn't come up with Alfonso Soriano - good for him!
2011-10-12 | reply
@JackHornsby, 'Austraia', not a country - in 'AustraLia', however, we say both football and soccer - our A-League has teams like Sydney FC (Football Club) and our national team is called the socceroos. I think that all confusion could be eliminated by simply saying EPL, or English Premier League - if you don't know what sport that is saying soccer or football is not going to get you the answers...

What are the 4 H's, the four temperments, and the quad cities? I have never heard of them.

though it's an american site, the clue is about teams in england, therefore i think the clue should say football. no one is going to be confused and try to name english football teams.
