I thought I was doing pretty well until I realized, while having a general impression they have something to do with subatomic behavior, I had absolutely no clue that different kinds of quarks even exist, let alone being able to name any of them.

@jadekelly A quark is a fundamental constituent of matter, observed in 1968 through deep elastic scatter. We found that protons aren't as simple as we thought. We thought they were solid particles, but they are not. Protons in fact are made up of three separate pieces. It just gets more confusing as our knowledge increases. But that is what a quark is: it's a piece of a proton, and they also make up other things including the neutron. I know all of that because of a song about quarks by Hank Green. It also helped me get all six of them correct.

Each quark has three possible colors as well, so there are actually 18 of them.

The only reason I knew the quarks was from the movie Roxanne. Thank you Darryl Hannah!

Got all of the Friends stars, states of Australia and Cluedo characters. Guessed all the Rocky states but New Mexico, got all the urban areas but Sao Paulo, got all the rivers but the Volga and all the languages but Russian. I totally blanked on the last two Catherines of Henry VIII and I totally blanked on Mary as a British monarch because I was too confused about why Jane Grey wasn't on the list. So overall it was an awesome quiz. I love the groups of ones! They're not too easy and not too hard.

One would think why portuguese isn't an official language in the UN o.o Good, I got almost nothing but the Friends people, some languages and some female monarcs.

Woo in the 9% who got Murray River for Australia, then again, I forgot the Nile, oops.
2011-11-05 | reply
I said South and Western. I didnt think to actually put in Australia, because usually if you put in the main word, it accepts it. Shouldn't South and Western be accepted?

The top and bottom quarks were also called "truth" and "beauty" for a while -- suggest you accept those too.

Urban areas by continent? But yet There are Tokyo and Moscow and Sydney? The first two are the asian continent and last I knew Australia wasn't considered a continent

@racinemitch I agree about tokyo and moscow being part of the asianic continent. Australia, however, is in fact a continent.

Rusia is split along the Ural Mountains into European Russia (on the west) and Asian Russia (on the east). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outline_of_Russia The above link says that it expands over Asia and Europe. When referring to the country as a whole, it is sometimes called 'Eurasian.'
