sedan chair: seat

I put the same thing. I looked it up, and they're talking about the sedan that the guards used to carry out while the queen or whoever sat in it. "Seat" is right based on the way it's clued, so I'd recommend adding something to the clue to differentiate it.

Sorry, but seat is not the best answer.

Sedan chair is also not the best clue. You really can't clarify it further?

Doesn't need clarification. A "sedan chair" is a chair carried on two poles. In fact, if you Google just "sedan", that's the first definition. It only means a type of automobile in North America...

The first result I got from Google was that 'sedan' means 'since' in Swedish. Curious, but not helpful.

@coloharpare From wiktionary: "(US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand) An automobile designed in a configuration with separate compartments for engine space, driver/passenger space and luggage space"

So no not only in north america, actually sedan refers to a car in quite a few other languages aswell... Nearly all of europe for instance ( the that seem to use another word are germany, italy, serbia, slovakia, romania, albanian and greece, so the other 40 countries all say sedan for sedan...)

So your claim is not only false, but wayyy off, like it is hard to find a language that does nót have the meaning of type of automobile for sedan. How to say sedan in other languages

In the UK we would call that type of car a saloon rather than a sedan. To me, the word sedan has the meaning used here.

Ps I I just googled sedan for, the fun of it, and the first definition is... drumroll: Sedan (automobile) - wikipedia. Actually all the first hits are all about the automobile type or a place in france called sedan. And now I went up to the 5th page ( then got bored) still all about cars ( 80%) and a few about trips to france (20%)

fur baron John Jacob, my brain finished that with Jingleheimer Schmidt and then couldn't get it out. Sometime my brain doesn't work how I would like.

Also couldn't think of anything other than Jacobite for the Whig one, I blame that on my currently reading Kidnapped.

I enjoyed the quiz despite my malfunctioning brain.

Not sure anyone in the world refers to the LA riots as the Rodney King riots.

"Rodney King riots" gets around 112,000 hits on Google, including articles from NBC News, Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, the LA Times, and the New York Times. So, it's not unheard-of.

Maybe its just me, but I don't love when there's 3-letter responses on these quizzes. They just seem like cheap filler when there are still other good answers that could be used. It's like using 2-letter answers in Boggle.

I think you only officially get scoring words in boggle for 3 and up but they are pretty pointless as you just try to stop the other guy cashing in. I can't see what is wrong with 2 letter words in scrabble; the idea is to score high and use up letters first and sometimes two tiles are the best way to do that.

AI and ZA are my favorites in Scrabble. Two letter words are excellent if you're playing to win. Although sometimes you have to open up the board with 5 or 6 letter words.
