Nice quiz. Got 100%. Much easier overall (IMO) than the quizzes that ask you to identify all the cities within a single country, thanks to the distinctive contours of the national boundaries and coastlines.

and the fact that all of these cities are ones that most people have at least heard of.

True that. Was surprised that Phnom Penh didn't make the list though. Poor empty Cambodia.

It would be nice if all countries that are clearly within the map were represented by one city. Add Thimphu, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Dili, and Bandar Seri Begawan

No, it wouldn't. It would basically become a capitals quiz, just with a couple cities added/removed. I like the quiz as it is.

Vladivostok's population is more than 600,000--less than 80,000 fewer than Washington, D.C. Of course, D.C. has a gigantic metro area; Vladivostok does not.

Oops, I meant to hit reply and accidentally deleted my comment! What I meant by saying Vladivostok is basically a rural town compared to others on the quiz is that while it has a sizeable population, that population is only a tiny fraction of cities like Tokyo and Shanghai.

I'm good at naming Chinese cities, but I'm rubbish at locating them. Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Urumqi, Xining, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing are just a few of the cities in China. There are many many more I can recall but the cities are everywhere! Eastern China is particularly hard as all the cities are so close together.

Keep doing these cities quizzes. I only got one point the first time, but I kept going until I could get them all. (Now, if only I can remember them!)

Surprised I know where Chinese cities are, though that was fairly easy to reason out. I'm not surprised that I don't know where Indian cities are.
