WHOA = how about by how much is sold? CURRY should have been on the list. Asian Indians use it for everything. When I saw it wasn't I was suspect of this list. You should have titled it "typical spices used in Caucasian American cooking". I didn't see too many Chinese spices on there which are used by many cooks also.

Garlic is not a spice or an herb. It is a bulb - like an onion. Vanilla is from a bean - it not considered a spice - even by cooks.

Right, this quiz is a little confusing. I think of herbs and spices a little differently-- this would be a fun picture quiz using more exotic herbs and spices, available globally.

you should accept Coriander as cilantro. NOONE here used the word cilantro, infact all of my indian cookbooks use the word coriander. so thats a bit unfair. and salt is a mineral not a herb or spice.

Maybe you should just call it spices and flavorings. Keep people from crying about it. Also, curry is a mix of spices, there is no curry plant so it WOULDN'T be on there people.

coriander and cilantro aren't exactly the same thing...coriander is the seeds that the cilantro plant grows from. they are, however, two different spices/herbs.
