Wow, I had no idea most of the island nations around Africa were uninhabited until the Europeans came. I also didn't know NZ was settled so late.

Got everything but Madagascar. When I saw Borneans, I started going through every Oceania and SE Asian country. Didn't even think about countries to the west. Very interesting.

I was curious as to why the quiz stopped at 9, and the next step jumps back 1500 years to Vanuatu and Samoa at 1000 BC. Yeah, probably a good place to cut!

How do we know the Bahamas were settled so late compared to the islands in the Lesser Antilles that are now nations: Grenada, Barbados, etc.?

We don't 'know'; but we haven't found any evidence of people there earlier. It's always possible that there were earlier settlements; especialy since there were people in Florida and Cuba thousands of years earlier. We just haven't found any sign on the Bahamas. Which is strange, when you think about it.

Really strange indeed, considering alll the other little Caribbean islands (or countries at least) were settled earlier
