@Ian1979 Lots of professions don't come with a salary. A jedi has his room and board paid for by the Jedi Council and/or the Republic, much like monks and clergy from many religions.
It's a bit of a higher calling than - say - logistics management, but he answers to people, has responsibilities, engages in negotiations, travels for work, practices diplomacy, teaches moody underlings, interacts with new technologies, and doesn't get as much sleep as he'd probably like.
Do the X-men even have jobs? I thought that they just mooched around the school all the time and left to fight Magneto every once in a while. Top Gun's Iceman, on the other hand, definitely had a job.
A lot of the younger X-Men (including Iceman, at least in the movies) are students. A lot of the older/more experienced ones are teachers at Xavier's school.
And, while superhero would certainly be acceptable for the X-man Bobby Drake/Iceman, he also attended college for accounting, and worked briefly as a CPA. Several of the X-men have had professions, including Beast as a biochemist/geneticist and Angel as a CEO.
I knew Seneca Crane but I dindn't know his exact title. I tried game operator, game warden, game controller, and several other similar titles. very frustrating.
I think that while detective should be accepted for Sherlock Holmes, the official answer displayed should be 'consulting detective' as if you read the original books and other versions he always describes himself as a consultant. The difference is he is not payed for his work which makes him a consultant not a detective. I know I am being picky but I am a perfectionist in such matters.
While yes, Crash Davis was a baseball player, he was specifically a Catcher. I'm not saying that should be updated as the answer, just an acceptable response.
He was an aspiring hockey player but could never manage to make it anything more than a passion despite the toll it took on his relationships and finances. It's a cautionary tale about unbridled obsessions and the dangers of alligators bitin' your damn hand off.
But this is about movies. In the movies he's been a scientist, doctor, gladiator, and Avenger. He also worked in a soda bottling plant in Brazil for a while.
Bit harsh on the Erin Brockovich clue - I tried activist, environmental activist, legal clerk, law clerk (all are on the wiki page). Perhaps accept a few more answers for that one?
I enjoyed the way International Man of Mystery was accepted for Austin Powers. Disappointed voice actor wasn't accepted for Mrs Doubtfire - Robin Williams plays Daniel Hillman who dresses up as Mrs Doubtfire, and he is a voice actor, also packer (you pack 'em, you ship 'em), but a man in drag minding his own kids while deceiving his ex-wife is not a nanny.
