Agreed, although "Orphanage" isn't the most descriptive clue. Might have gone with "Illinois Nazis" or "Four Fried Chickens and a Coke". :-)

Yeah...but that plot line sort of gets put on the back burner. Everyone thinks the plot was just to get the band back together and to have epic car chases.

It does seem like a few certain movies (Big Lebowski, Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, Rain Man, and Saving Private Ryan, for example) appear in almost every movie quiz I take.

perhaps, but also he needs to choose movies that likely a large portion of the quiztakers might have seen. So you end up with well known ones and not obscure names only a few people will recognise. I recognised all of these neames, though I havent seen all and also didnt get all. (saw bits and pieces of 10, but only (as good as) 4-5 completely. And got 13)

So many movies I could not sit through...must be a guy thing--Rocky IV, Big Lebowski, Napoleon Dynamite, The Hangover, Fight Club. Yuk movies with yelling, hitting... And I hated Avatar, Million Dollar Baby (punching and crying), Meet The Parents (not really hate there, just bored me half way through), Sound of Music (the music gives me a headache, as does the constant smiling--gag). However, The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie of all time, and I love The Fugitive, Blues Bros., Home Alone, ET... Dark Knight was very good....Forrest Gump was very cool when it came out...Jurassic Park was excellent bringing dinosaurs to life, and finally, The Hunger Games was not a bad movie from a book... All in all, half blockbusters and half some guys list of his favorite movies?

Yeah, maybe. Or maybe it's a list of well-known movies by clue?

I'm with the Wombat on this one. These are all very well known movies. Because you didn't like a bunch of them is no reason to leave them out. Lots of people DO like them. (Surprised a bit that you liked The Dark Knight, which has plenty of violence and yelling, while disliking movies like the Big Lebowski and Napoleon Dynamite, which have far less, though are clearly a different genre. Maybe it's the goofy humor you dislike more?)

It's not that I don't like these movies, it's just that they are the same ones over and over again, and most of them are from the same era and appeal more to men of a certain age. There are usually only one or two token romances, musicals, or dramas that probably appeal more to women or older people, and even those seem to be the same ones - Jane Austen movies, Ghost, or the Sound of Music. We also seldom see any of the great westerns, period pieces, Golden Age of Hollywood films, etc. All I'm asking is that with all the hundreds of great movies out there, mix it up a bit more. Maybe if I make my own quiz someone will be inspired to watch some of those great films - or not.

Meet the Parents is one of my least favorite types of movies: cringe humor with an unlikeable protagonist. Actually, no one in that movie is really likeable. They're a bunch of out-of-touch, unsympathetic, dysfunctional liars who are the agents of their own completely avoidable pain.

Fun quiz, but I have a (likely) unpopular opinion: I don't think we should be expected, in this quiz or others, to know the details of every freaking sequel in an endless series based around one character. I know Heath Ledger played the joker in one of the big Batman movies. Holy crap, must I know the exact unique title?? Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman is Cool, The Dark Knight, The Rich Dude with a Neato Car, Batman is Mad Now! etc etc etc. I do not care. I do know the reference of the character in the quiz. I say that should be enough!!!

(Same thing with Rocky. I'm supposed to know the plot to each of these movies? I put Rocky, the just kept putting numbers until I got it. Silliness!)
