When I saw that Lil Wayne was guessed less than Los Del Rio, Lou Bega, and Lily Allen, I couldn't help myself from laughing for like three minutes straight!

Anyone from the UK, like myself, will know the Los Del Rio, Lily Allen and Lou Bega ones immediately because they were huge selling number one hits over here. Lil Wayne has never really had any hits in his own right over here. His biggest hits were all as a featured artist. I've never heard of A Milli, personally, but I still managed to guess it because I got all the others so quickly that it gave me time to randomly guess it!

I only got Lou Reed because I somehow thought of Lou Reed at Mambo No. 5. Then I remembered that it was Lou Bega though. :)

"Need You Now" hit #1 on the country chart in November 2009 and peaked at #2 on the pop chart in March 2010. It later was listed as Billboard's #2 single of the year (behind Ke$ha's "Tik Tok") for 2010 and won that year's Grammy awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

I was in high school in 1971 and I don't remember ever hearing this song on any radio station I listened to. Sorry, but I guess it just didn't make the playlist and I've never heard of it.

I know some of his songs, but that one really rang no bells. Suzanne I might've gotten. And if I'd heard him singing I'd recognise that. Names of songs - not so much.

Leonard Cohen is an acquired taste I never acquired. Same era Lord Baltimore is more my speed. But I don't cry because you haven't heard of them.

That is sad indeed. I forget what songs there were as hints, but quite sad a great name is removed in favour of weirdness as LMFAO.

Music isnt my thing, especially modern but I knew that. Only got gaga, kind of hard to miss, and zeppelin, armstrong and little richard.

Not necessarily music is not my thing, it is not that I dont like music, just bad at names and dont follow anyone specific. I like many music styles up to and including 1950, after that my taste for it declines. (not that there arent individual artists from other decades which I (would) like. But if you would make random playlists by decade... yea

Level 67

And for the record, Lizzo is a classically-trained musician (flute, I think, although it might be a different woodwind). She also has a nice singing voice when she chooses to sing rather than rap. Lots of people I bet you'd consider "real" musicians couldn't play a note. Frank Sinatra comes to mind. Never wrote a note of his own music. Couldn't play an instrument. Elvis never wrote a note of his songs either, although he could play guitar (not any better than your neighbor could though). People used to say Lady Gaga wasn't a "real" musician, and she has proven everyone wrong. These women are immensely talented musicians. Their preference for pop doesn't mean their skills are limited. There are some real lightweights in the music industry today. Lizzo is not one of them.

Eytan...you picked a bad artist to use to try to prove your point. Like her or not, Lizzo is a musician by literally any reasonable definition of the word. She sings, writes songs, and is a phenomenal flutist.

Ludacris has had 7 top 10 singles in the US and none of them were chosen for this quiz. I would surmise that this has something to do with the extremely low guess rate. This might be worth reconsidering?

I would consider those two songs as some of his most well-known, but I guess I'm in the minority. I'm really surprised the percentage for him is so low.
+1
Level 67

Agreed that those are two of his better-known songs. The only one that might be bigger is Act A Fool, but marginally so. I think it's just that you really had to be between the ages of 14 and 21 from 2000 to like 2006 to know him. Most people outside that age bracket have no shot.

Surprised not to see Luther Vandross - I'm not good at any music clues outside of the '60s and '70s, maybe a few from the '50s and '80s, but he's one I had heard of. (My experience with '90s music consisted of yelling at my kids to turn it down.)
