johnnyaitch | I'm not a fan of university rankings. California dominates the list. 2010-06-25 |
will | It's fun to see in the answer stats which universities are overrated (UCLA, Brown, Texas) or underrated (Emory, Johns Hopkins). 2010-06-26 |
beccalinda | Amazing when you consider rankings of where you may have gotten into school and where you may have been rejected. Which pretty much tells me that where you get in and where you don't is sometimes a crapshoot. 2010-07-25 |
Cicely | I know people who got into Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc. but were rejected from much lower-ranked schools. I suspect the admissions directors draw names from a hat. The whole thing seems so arbitrary. 2010-08-15 |
beccalinda | I got into some highly ranked schools (I attended one of the #5 schools on this list) but got rejected by a few lower ranked schools (except #2, which I expected).
I got into all the schools where I had a good interview. For all the schools that rejected me, I had mediocre to bad interviews. I didn't interview everywhere, but it seemed to seal my fate at the schools where I did interview. 2010-08-27 |
meggilyweggily | Part of the reason colleges choose to accept or reject you is whether they think there's a chance you'll actually go to their college if you're accepted. They want to enroll as many acceptees as possible. So if you applied at a school with stats way above their profile, and you showed no particular interest in the school (didn't visit, etc), they might assume they're just a safety and reject you in favor of a student who seems more likely to attend their school. 2010-10-01 |

Mithol | Yay I guessed 18! 2011-09-15 |
Ithabise | Terrible. I need to take this when my mind is relaxed. I know more than 18/50! 2011-09-15 |
Bob Saget | So Yeshiva and Texas are tied? One is a small, private, selective religious school that separates the sexes, and the other is the school Matthew McConaghey graduated from.
How are they equal? They offer two completely different experiences.
These rankings are nonsense. But a fun quiz. 2011-09-15 |
