I said Mary Shelley... I mean, you've got Victor Hugo. Also, I put in Josef for Stalin, but it was not accepted. I of course got it with Joseph, but Josef should be accepted.

Accept Mary for Shelley and Gandhi is spelled wrong. Otherwise good quiz!

As should Cristoforo Columbo - Hello, Christopher was NOT his name, you took the English spelling for that one, but wouldn't cut a break on spelling of mohandas????

I'm with you guys above - wasn't he also knows at Mahatma? And I thought Mary Shelley. And Christoforo should have worked. After a couple of mistakes, I got 'em all. Liked this quiz - better history than sports.

Mary Shelley should be allowed, along with Percy. As for Ganhdi, his first name was Mohandas. Mahatma is an honorific title, not part of his name. Otherwise, you should also allow Madiba, Mandela's clan name (which you shouldn't, because his first name is Nelson).

Josef should count. Mahatma means "great soul", a name bestowed upon him in his later life by the Indian people. His real name was Mohandas. But Christoforo... no one refers to him in that way; I doubt even Italians do.

Italians refer to Columbus as christoforo, as spanish refer to him as cristobal colon (note the change in the surname also). My first guess was christoforo, then I tried christopher. I don't think Josef should be accepted, if so, you need to accept luwdig for beethonven, or wolfang for mozart, or any other miss spelling

Well, Josef is the more accurate spelling, ethnically speaking. The Russians don't do "ph" in their language. "Ph" really doesn't make any sense when you think about it.

Plz accept misspellings of Ulysses I tried Ulyseuss and other things like that. I also thought that Ghandi's name was Mahatma. Wikipedia says he is also referred as that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohandas_Karamchand_Gandhi

Mahatma is an honorific TITLE. That is not his name. Mohandas was his actual name.

Lukutiss1324, Hernando de Soto was a Spanish conquistador that explored southeast United States including Florida and Alabama. He was violent and killed many native american tribespeople. They, in turn, slayed some of his men. Though many died from this, the deadliest part of the journey was the swampland. Hernando de Soto died from disease at the Mississippi river delta. He was the first man to discover it. A fun fact about him is that there is a legend that the wild boars in the south are ancestors of some pigs that escaped for de Soto's camp. Now you know all about the life of Hernando de Soto. (I know all thid because I did a project on him last year. I also did one on Simón Bolívar.)
