A nitpick - the line under the title says 21 players, but the scoring says I got 6 of 22 correct. Not being a basketball fan, I am proud of my humble 6 whatever the total number might be.

Think about it this way. In the 9-year span from 1961 through 1969, there were 35 performances of 60+ points - 1 by Jerry West, 2 by Elgin Baylor, and 33 by Chamberlain. In the entire remaining history of the league, there have only been 29 more such performances by any other players. Talk about a truly dominant career!

But holy cow, 100 points in one game? I wonder if his team was giving him the ball every time just to make that happen.

actually his team scored somewhere around 160 that game. and it wasn't a complete blow out. same with kobe getting his 81, his team needed it, that was a comeback win.

Babe Ruth in 1921 had arguably the most dominant season of any player in North American team sports, and his career, for its time, was more dominating than Chamberlain's was in his time. Chamberlain had Russell as his counterpart - Russell superior on defense, Chamberlain on offense. Plus, Russell's Celtics had 11 championships in 13 years - unparalleled, even by any Yankees team. Chamberlain's teams had two. Ruth had no peer. The only other player who compares in dominance was Gretzky.

It's amazing that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the top scorer of all time, has never scored 60 in a game.
