"Certain bird of prey" is too vague. It could also be an owl.

Yeah, you should add owl, or give more information in the clue.

Added "fish-eating" to the clue to prevent this confusion.

I've never seen it spelled "omnipitent." But since you used the word "spelt," I'm going to venture a guess that you're not American, so maybe it's just a matter of cultural spelling.
Either that or you're making a joke that went straight over my head. :-)

it's not cultural. Potent means powerful. Omnipotent means all-powerful. There is no such thing as "Omnipitent." He is probably just dumb :)

Omnipitent is not a word. Do you understand root words and prefixes? Omni - potent.

No, it is just pronounce omni-pitent, but it is, in fact, omnipotent.Coming the latin, omni meaning all and potent being powerful.

sense of smell? odor? / related to omens? occult. / to stare at? observe or observer

Odor doesn't work because the clue is asking for the adjective meaning "related to the sense of smell" whereas odor is the smell itself. It is along the lines of gustatory for taste, auditory for sound, visual for sight, etc.
Observe doesn't work because it doesn't imply lust... I tried observe at first as well, though lol.
