"Hootch" and "Bootleg" actually also are words for illegal homemade liquor - and having had a grandpa in NYC who made bootleg gin in a bathtub during prohibition, we city dwellers never called it Moonshine (and there were a lot more city stills than country!). "Booze" could even argueably be an answer for the same question.
