100% on first try. Although it is kind of tricky since there are countries that translate so differently, like Latvia turning into Letonia and Netherlands to Paises Bajos.

Esta prueba era bien Quizmaster!!! Pero deletreado mal "Barein" es actualmente Bahrein. (This was a nice quiz Quizmaster!!! But you spelled Barein wrong, it's actually Bahrein.)

Well, I do know all the countries in English, but Spanish was too confusing. Also my mother language is Spanish and it doesn't make any sense that I find this quiz harder that the one in English :-/

Mexico is spelled Méjico in Spain, you should accept that.

I'm not sure this is true, but I'll accept Méjico.

It is that is how I've learned it in Spanish class. My teacher is from España. She lets us spell it either way.

Sorry darling, the right answer is Mexico, put you pronounciate it as Mejico. (Spanish is my native language).

Write "Congo" and "Republica Democratica de Congo" and "Republica del Congo" will addedd automatically. But you must write "Sudan" and "Sudan del sur" or "Guinea", "Guinea Ecuatorial" and "Guinea Bisau" for each country.
Sep 1, 2012
(17)
Well of course, there's only one Congo, but Sudan and Sudan del Sur are two different countries, and those three Guineas are also different. Same thing with Corea del Sur and Corea del Norte. Don't agree with you, I think that way is better cause it makes you think harder.

Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo are different countries but when you write "Congo" or "Republic of Congo" both are accepted as only one

I got fifty somehow I was able to get all the "sud" counties. I've taken Spanish for only a couple years. UNO,dos, tres, cuatro... Sesenta y tres, ...
Jan 28, 2013

Many of these are the same as English. Maybe you could accept "Los Estados Unidos"?? I was stuck on that for a second since you require just "Estados Unidos." Or even EEU since other tests will accept USA.
Feb 17, 2013
(56)
Europe is the hardest part (for someone who isn't a native Spanish speaker or from Europe)... I suppose because many of the countries there have old Spanish names from long ago that are not the same or in some cases even similar to the names used in English today.
Feb 17, 2013
Quizmaster
Okay "Los Estados Unidos" will work now. EEU won't work since it's not correct. EEUU or EUA will work, however.

Could you also accept EAU for Emiratos Árabes Unidos? That would save a lot of getting my fingers in a tangle trying to type out the whole name under the time pressure :)

Awesome test thank you. I was frustrated with the English one, I usually did good but I missed the most basic ones and I felt stupid. By the way Fiyi does not exist. Is also Fiji. Spanish is my native language, also I collect World Almanacs (in Spanish) since 1984 so you can trust me in this one.

Could you accept Holanda for Netherlands, it's more common than Paises Bajos
Oct 21, 2013

You should accept "Holanda" if you accept "Holland" because that's the correct translation, is "Holanda" for "Holland" and "Países Bajos" for "Netherlands". However, nice quiz. 196/196 at English' and Spanish' quizzes, 129 in French and 140 in Portuguese. :)

115, not too bad given that I don't speak Spanish. Most of the ones I got had the same names as in English, but I did get a good number in which I had to change Ws in Us or adding "IA" at the end. Got Estados Unidos but couldn't guess what UK was, and would NEVER had guessed Yibuti or Tunez.

Holanda" should definitely be accepted - it's certainly as commonly used in Spanish speaking countries around the world as Paises Bajos. Still - I enjoyed the challenge of learning all the countries in Spanish. I got them all on the fourth attempt untimed....in about 18 minutes!! However, getting under the 12 minute mark took until my 11th attempt. As an English speaker living in a Spanish speaking country this has been a very useful exercise.

He terminado el Quiz.

May 12, 2014
JUANMA1964
(2)
