I thought it was cremation but I don't think I spelled it right. Then I realized it was cremate.

It should be cremation. You don't have cremate remains, you have cremation remains.

I thought it was cremation too, but then I figured I must be wrong. Cremate remains makes no grammatical sense.

@YantheMan unless it's a verb.

But the shortened singular word is obviously a noun, so the first word is a descriptor.

I admit, after having golf and thinking of what the first part could be and not being able to think of anything I tried frodo before I thought of frisbee.

I am sure frodo golf ( hobbit golf) is a thinkg somewhere somehow

Never heard of "Ebonics, Frolf, Crunk, or Jorts." Are they Americanisms that haven't made it across the Pond, or have I just missed out on them?

I didn't know TomKat either, but the picture gave it away.

I have ever heard the term used over here.

Ebonics is well known in linguistics. It's the (study of) languages created by Africans who spoke different languages (to each other) but made new ones in order to adapt to enslavement. John McWhorter is a published author and expert linguist on the subject.

Ebonics is a well-known word, well maybe not very well known, but you don't need to be american or even an English speaker to know it. I know it. Though I admit I have been known to spend time on etymologysites, though I don't think that is where I got it from. I don't think my sister knows it for instance. It is a matter of what you do in your free time and what you retain. She is less on the internet, and definitely reads less English.

Ebonics refers to the african-american vernacular. (btw I think I heard of the word ebonics before I learned the word vernacular. Though It was quite some time before I looked up what exactly ebonics meant, though I had gotten the general idea, I came across it quite often)

The others I indeed have not heard of before, crunk once perhaps ( maybe on this site?) but I think I choose to forget it right away again haha. Some port-manteaus just feel too fabricated.

Both are acceptable as the x variant requires importing plural rules and has a silent x so would be ambiguous when spoken in English.

If you type in camera followed by recorder you get "era recorder" (which might be a yearbook?) left in the answer box, because it just accepts can as a word. Continuing along the quiz, you get a backed up mess and have to go all over again because camcorder is accepted as an instrument which records the revolutions of a valve bumper. The same with bro being accepted as the original word for the shortened version of itself.
