Funny, it seems the Republican and Democratic populations are almost exactly equal! And the Congress and Senate are Republican! Funny that a minority just won a majority in every area of U.S. government...

A majority voted for Obama. The same cannot be said for Trump...

@ Aesthus... maybe it would be funny, if it wasn't entirely by cynical, terrible, corrupt, disillusionment-inducing design. Look up gerrymandering. Then read about the electoral college. Then perhaps about Republican efforts to suppress voter turnout because they know very well that they can't win through democracy.

Are liberals immune to gerrymandering?

Republicans get all the blame on gerrymandering; most of it is well-deserved, but take a look at Democrat gerrymandering too--look at Maryland's House districts....

Republicans can't win through democracy...except in 1860, 1864, 1868, 1872, 1876, 1880, 1888, 1896, 1904, 1908, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1952, 1956, 1968, 1972, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 2004. And in 1960, 2000, and 2016, the electoral college was just there to make sure that California, New York, and south Florida alone didn't decide for the rest of the country who the next president would be. They gave us Kennedy when the majority voted for Nixon, don't forget.

The first time, the Republicans split their votes between Taft and Teddy Roosevelt (3rd term was legal back then). The second time, it was close, but California gave him the reelection over Charles Evan Hughes.

Except that "all men are created equal" was from the Declaration of Independence which was written mostly by Thomas Jefferson. Lincoln referred to it in his speech.
