I really like these Geography quizzes. Doing so many of these, people always seem to notice my crazy arsenal of geographic knowledge. I'm guessing a lot of you guys get the same thing.

These facts lead me to learn more...spent a few hours one night watching videos on youtube of Beirut--so different from the bombed-out place we were shown on the news--very international and young, nightclubs, restarants. Vice News has a series on the Ukraine civil war last year that's on the ground with the soldiers and citizens--I used to thinkn it was just a place in Russia that people left to emigrate to the U.S. I look up one thing and it opens the door to much more. We used to have only encyclopedias hopelessy out of date, trips to the library, not easy if you work long hours, and expensive books my house already overflows with. Now, with the web, a person could spend every day learning new things and never make a dent in what's available. These quizzes make it fun, getting feedback on what we know. And learning more we didn't.

Beirut is still a beautiful place, even with all the buildings riddled with bullet holes.

This poster makes a good point. If you believe what the People's Republic of China says, then Taiwan is theirs. If you believe what the Republic of China says, then Taiwan is theirs. Either way, it's part of one of the Chinas.
