Now and again, answers to these quizzes blow me away. Only 24% know that "As Time Goes By" is from Casablanca, certainly one of the two or three most significant movie songs ever? Amazing.

Almost everyone has heard of Casablanca, but I'd wager that probably 98% of people under 40 years old have never actually seen it.

Yeah, I'm in my mid 30's and have heard of Casablanca, but never seen it. If it makes you feel better, I didn't know the song from Despicable Me 2 or The Muppet Movie either ;)

I watched Casablanca for the first time when I was in my mid thirties. It's a great film.

I saw Casablanca when I was 19. I'm 20 now.

Also, Eminem is a very talented individual and 8 Mile was a good movie that came out in 2002, 60 fewer years ago than Casablanca.
Pinocchio and The Wizard of Oz are older, but as "family" movies they both get a ton more play- rereleased to theaters, shown on TV, and sold in DVD collections etc.

Goodness. I could only remember Moon River from Fletch. It got stuck in my head.

Fletch should be accepted for Moon River.

I thought I was the only one that typed it!

I knew it was wrong because of the date, but I still had to type in Fletch.

I missed fourteen, but I know I got Saturday Night Fever right. But it didn't accept it. Maybe I misspelled "Saturday"?

I often wonder if I'm the only one who knows Unchained Melody was written in like... the 50s? and Ghost just made it popular in recent times. Just wondering.

I remember it well. It was 1955 and in the UK, Jimmy Young covered the original US version by Todd Duncan. I personally prefer the Righteous Brothers recording.

Wizard of Oz came out in 1939, not 1930.

Surprised Flashdance is so high in the stats, that's the one I struggled with the most.

When it comes to songs overshadowing movies, though, that one takes the cake. Think about that movie for a second - an 18-year-old girl who's a steelworker by day, exotic dancer by night, pursuing a dream to become a legitimate (i.e. all her clothes on) dancer. Without the music, it would have been a late night entry on Cinemax at best. With the music, it became a box office smash.

When I hear that song I always picture dance stepping in legwarmers.

You need to add a second answer for "I Will Always Love You"... go back and watch "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"... and you will note that, near the end, Dolly Parton sings it to Burt Reynolds. She is the one who actually wrote the song, and was happy to give Whitney Houston permission for its use in "The Bodyguard."

I used to have that on this quiz. Only 4% of people guessed it correctly.
