Why use Montana to Clark for "The Catch"? Willie Mays' catch is much more famous, and also called "The Catch". Also, there are more well-known and intense crosstown rivalries then Yankees-Mets. Why are many sports quizzes all about mentioning the Yankees, especially the baseball nicknames.

Well if you're a football fan that would make sense, but most people I talk to remember Willie Mays. It's generally considered more of an iconic sports moment, at least in my experience. Also, Thompson's blast sent the Giants to the Series, not the Dodgers.

They're both called "the catch". It's trivia. It's obviously not able to mix up what he's referring to so just deal with it, man. You're not suggesting anything that would better the quiz in any way. Ya, there are more well-known rivalries than the Mets/Yankees, that's the point. Fringe popular is great for trivia because people may not be thinking of it right off, but they can remember hearing it and figure out the answer. So OP, great quiz.

Yankees/Mets have been known as "Subway Series" for decades. Cubs/White Sox, Giants/A's, I've never heard of a name of them.

WIllie Mays' "Catch" is not "much more famous". Not only that but the question cites Montana/Clark, 1982 so Mays' catch has absolutle nothing to do with anything which makes your comment nothing more than whining. As far as your Mets/Yankees complaint, read the title of the quiz again. Subway Series is, in fact, perfectly suitable for a quiz of this nature, rather than simply a way of "mentioning the Yankees". These quizzes are for ENTERTAINMENT. If all you have is complaints, stay off the site.

giants/a's is known as battle of the bay, as is niners/raiders....and as a huge baseball fan, i think of mays 1st when someone says "the catch" but i also know that montana to clark is also "the catch" and the question doesn't say what is "the catch" ? it says what's the name of montana to clark, so there is nothing wrong here at all.
