I agree, though his later achievements eclipsed any fame that he earned for his performance at the Olympics, and so he wasn't really famous for the Olympics, maybe that's why he is not included here. http://www.ali.com/legend_olympics.php

should have gotten Joyner-Kersee... she's the subject of one of the readings in the text book I use. I have to re-read it with students about once every other month. Just couldn't recall her name.
