Interesting and challenging. For F F, I tried Foo Fighters, and for V F, I tried Vanilla Fudge. I think hiding part of Are You ___________ hurts recognition. The third word doesn't really expose the band. The first two words in their name are the most important.

Thanks! The Hendrix one is tricky, but the artist is The Jimi Hendrix Experience, not just solo Hendrix himself (though I accepted that as an answer). Experience is part of the name, so I kept it out.

Franz Ferdinand seems a pretty strange inclusion.

It's really odd they left out immensely influential people like Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John who caught attention from the beginning.

I would agree on most of those, though Elton's debut was Empty Sky, which wasn't really among his best. Dylan's first is good, but not really great
