Anyone who calls Senator Sanders a Socialist clearly needs to brush up on their definition of Socialism. Socialism is when the government controls the means of production, such as when the government owns businesses or makes our clothes. This is not what Senator Sanders is advocating for. He is a Social Democrat, and is simply calling for an implementation of European-style Social Democratic policies (a national health care system, paid sick leave, tuition-free college, etc.). This is nothing different than what is done in other developed nations. Unfortunately, FOX News and Rush Limbaugh would have us believe that Senator Sanders is no different than Hugo Chavez. I feel sorry for Republicans. They consistently vote against their own best interests and have a field of jerks to choose from.
He is most certainly not electable. Hillary Clinton is still the favorite across parties and Sanders is more vulnerable to the Republican candidates because he's old, white, and male just like them. Should that matter? No. Will it matter? Yes. Hillary can win a large number of votes for simply being a liberal woman. This is why Marco Rubio stands a chance. He's young and ethnically Cuban.
"In 1844, the Democrats were split / The three nominees for the presidential candidate / Were Martin Van Buren, a former president and an abolitionist / James Buchanan, a moderate / Louis Cass, a general and expansionist / From Nashville came a dark horse riding up / He was James K. Polk, Napoleon of the stump."

As I write the field is down to the last four - it would be interested to see the answer stats from this day on. How quickly do people get forgotten after they drop out of the race?
