Maudland is still 'unoccupied' I think, but it's been a long time since I last researched Antarctica. USA, Russia and a few others have claim to it and the right to scratch around on it but the rest of the continent is taken with Australia having the largest portion.
Today it was one of those quizzes you start and your just like, huhhhh, i don't want to do this, but I still got two of the least commonly guessed, anguilla and biot (british indian ocean territory)
But the quiz is about the 14 territories which the UK recognises as its overseas territories. Whether or not they are recognised by other countries doesn't matter - Argentina claims the Falklands and South Georgia, Spain claims Gibraltar etc. The quiz is about the territories which the UK claims to own...
So pleased I got 100% on my first try - learned about these on a YouTube video a few years ago and it seems they got stuck in my head.
Some of them have interesting/controversial/tragic stories..... Like the abuse scandal in Pitcairn, the volcano which destroyed 60% of Montserrat, or the fact that the Falklands War actually started because Argentina invaded South Georgia, not the Falkland Islands

I hope that was enjoyable for you.
This is a tight little list of some of the top tax-havens and dubious offshore hangouts in the whole world!
