I love the idea, but it's silly to file DRC under D, when everyone just calls it Congo, or Congo-Kinshasa if they need to specify. Please revise it to reflect everyday usage!

I wouldn't say silly, I'd say challenging. If your suggestion was taken we'd have to file the USA under "A". There needs to be an "accepted" official name for every country if for no other reason than to create quizzes and trivia questions!

For that matter, China should be under "P" (if we are discounting articles like "the") as it is The People's Republic of China, Germany should be under "F" as it is officially the Federal Republic of Germany, Brazil should also be under "F" as it is the Federative Republic of Brazil, India should be under "R" as it is officially the Republic of India, and so on and so on. ALL of these names are common or colloquial names and not the official names EXCEPT for the Democratic Republic of the Congo... that's why it stands out and seems strange.
