Really liked this Quiz though...

you should put both first names and last names, as some of your answers vary ("snape" for severus snape then "charity" for charity burbage).
Apr 23, 2012  delete  reply
That's sorted, thanks for feedback

Snape wasn't killed in the Shack, he was killed in the boathouse....
May 2, 2012  delete  reply
He was killed in the Shrieking shack in the book, the boathouse in the film but I'll make this clearer
May 3, 2012  delete  reply
didn't reed the clues close enough
May 3, 2012  delete  reply
Accept Bryce? I didn't think of typing Frank, as I was used to surnames being accepted...
May 4, 2012  delete  reply
Okay, Bryce should be accepted when its finished resubmitting

good quiz!
May 5, 2012  delete  reply
GREAT quiz idea!
May 10, 2012  delete  reply
I liked it, but realized: You could just be typing random character names. There's no "click and type" or anything.

There is now.

The most common Spelling of Lily is with two 'L's i think Lilly Potter should be accepted as well as lily potter
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
Quizmaster
Okay, that will work now.
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
Fofie
BTW, it's not the most common spelling of Lily.
Jun 5, 2012  delete  reply
Not trying to be weird or anything, but Lilly looks so odd to me because I've always seen it spelled Lily. Oh, and it's really funny how people refer to Lily still as Lily Evans even after she was married!!

this is a really cool quiz. I can't believe I forgot all of this from when I read the books. Looks like i need to re-read them

whatiscricket
Think i might stab myself in the chest after forgetting him!! Got everybody else except for lettuce though.
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
For the ones I missed, I kept thinking things like, "It was that guy, in that one chapter. Dear lord, what was his name?"
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
I hate it when that happens, you have my sympathy ;)
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
"Voldermort in his father's old house" confused me. It seemed like it could have been Tom Riddle Sr. or Morfin Gaunt because it was unclear about whose house.
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
plattitude
Agreed. The "his" in the clue is somewhat ambigous. "Voldemort in the Riddle house" might be clearer

I had this problem too. Please fix. The only other one I didn't get was Voldemort. Doy. I kept on trying to think of the death eater killed in the battle of Hogwarts, but that wasn't a rebound it was just a miss wasn't it. Good quiz.
Mar 3, 2013  delete  reply
disagree
Apr 25, 2013  delete  reply
Good idea for a quiz, but I was surprised that it seemed to move between the books and movies, which was odd. For instance, in the books it is falling through the veil, and Hedwig's death is the one from the movie. More continuity would be appreciated, but great quiz.
Jun 3, 2012  delete  reply
I've changed Hedwig's to match the book
Jun 4, 2012  delete  reply
i think that mertle should be accepted b/c i, personally, didnt know how to spell it correctly

The ones I didn't get were on the tip of my tongue! Makes me want to re-read Harry Potter for like the twentieth time.
Jun 4, 2012  delete  reply
Only the twentieth ;)

Jun 4, 2012  delete  reply
triwizard tournament and he wins it with harry potter but dies because good old voldy kills him(:

Wormtail kills him on Voldemort's orders. Voldemort does not actually kill him. "Kill the spare."

This is a really good quiz but I think that for Nearly Headless Nick you should also accept sir nicolas de mimsy popington. Thats what I was typing the whole time and it didn't accept it. Nearly headless nick is his nickname so I tyhink you should accept both answers
Jun 5, 2012  delete  reply
That should be accepted now, thanks
Jun 5, 2012  delete  reply
What
Can you add Gibbon to Crabbe? He was also a death eater and killed by friendly fire (idiotic word) at the end of the 6th book.
Jun 5, 2012  delete  reply
Fiend fire, not friend fire. Fiend fire is the enchanted flames that destroy horcruxes. Friendly fire is something completely different

Great quiz! I like how you included Hebzibah, Bode and the Flobberworms but I am pretty surprised that very few people actually get them.
Jul 16, 2012  delete  reply
Nice quiz, but you ought to look at your spelling!
Jul 16, 2012  delete  reply
Spoiler alert much?
Aug 16, 2012  delete  reply
I think Nicholas should be accepted for Nearly Headless Nick.
Aug 29, 2012  delete  reply
Nicholas will be accepted now
Aug 30, 2012  delete  reply
It doesn't mess up any of the answers, but in the last clue on the left column, you spelled Voldemort incorrectly by adding an extra R before the M. Just thought you might want to know.
Aug 31, 2012  delete  reply
kept spelling burbage wrong...half of these were on just the tip of my tongue.

even when I entered in every type of spelling and variation I could think of, none of them were accepted. Horrible quiz.

Quizmaster
The quiz isn't horrible! Your answer has to correspond to the yellow box! Otherwise, you could just type in random Harry Potter characters and get most of the answers.
Dec 14, 2012  delete  reply
Moody was actually killed by Snape: During the flight from Privet Drive, Snape sent a curse flying, attempting to hit Moody's pursuer, because Snape was helping Harry's cause. It accidentally hit Moody, which caused him to fall from his broom and die.

Would have gotten lettuce if "flobberworm" were accepted. Never thought to pluralize.
Feb 19, 2013  delete  reply
You should have added Lupin, Tonks, James, and Bellatrix.
Mar 17, 2013  delete  reply
I did do a second quiz with a few on - Harry Potter characters by death II
Mar 18, 2013  delete  reply
Hepzibiah has an i in it and should accept flobberworm, singular. great quiz though
Apr 1, 2013  delete  reply
I wish this quiz was about 3 times longer.
Apr 4, 2013  delete  reply
Accept Alastor Moody for Mad Eye? That was his name after all...
Apr 4, 2013  delete  reply
chrisdoyle
no cedric diggory? he was the first character to die in the books.
Apr 18, 2013  delete  reply
It wouldnt accept Moaning Mrytle but accepted Myrtle!
May 2, 2013  delete  reply
i liked the quiz, a challenge for sure...but Snape wasn't killed in the Shrieking Shack...he was killed at the boathouse by the lake at Hogwarts....
May 2, 2013  delete  reply
The clues reference the books, not necessarily the movies. In the book snape was killed in the shrieking shack
May 5, 2013  delete  reply
Loved the quiz. Thanks.
