I don't understand how you could have possibly completed this quiz with 5 points, and still be at level 0. Something seems quite suspicious.
Oct 31, 2014
@DollarBill, quizzes get reset, and points previously earned are taken away. Sad, but true.
Apr 9, 2015
If you like Fast Typing quizzes, I just made a new (difficult) one: Let everyone know if you like it!
May 15, 2015
Not hitting the space bar may save you more time PinkiePie
Jan 16, 2013
I doubt it. In my experiments, I finish with 13 seconds left if I type the spaces and only 2 seconds left if I don't. Typing the spaces doesn't cost any time, since I type them with thumbs and don't type anything else with thumbs; but not typing them confuses my muscle memory and makes it harder to fix typos.
Jan 16, 2013
wouldn't skipping the spaces mean the sentence is incorrect?
Jan 24, 2013
Fackwacker, no, because the quizzes here do not consider spaces, capitalization, or special characters.
Jan 28, 2013
I think what Fackwacker is saying is that maybe the quiz creator should require spaces, since technically the sentences are NOT correct without them.
Feb 4, 2013
ctleng76, there is no way to require spaces
May 31, 2013
along those lines you can put a space in the wrong spot and its still correct, like in the middle of a word instead of after it
Jun 13, 2014
I think i know why they do not enforce spaces, it would just be too much code
Jan 5, 2015
no because I am used to typing with spaces and it is much easier to do it and get better at typing spaces because really your bot typing 100 wpm than
May 26, 2014
Possibly. There is a total of 590 keystrokes if you include the space bar strokes, 500 without. That's almost a sixth of the strokes you could possibly omit. Maybe with a lot of practice it could be done.
Oct 31, 2014
Update: With a lot of practice and concentration, I finally completed this damned thing. Now for the 50 US states in one minute, the only one left that I can't do. :(
Nov 2, 2014
I thought it was, "...lazy brown dog."
Jan 24, 2013
The point of the sentence is to use all 26 letters in few words. Why then would it duplicate the word brown?
Jan 24, 2013
The point of the sentence doesn't have anything to do with the 26 letters of the alphabet. The quiz isn't about the alphabet's letters; it's about whether or not you can type all the sentences correctly in a minute.
Jan 24, 2013
Actually the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." is used to show how different fonts would look.(You can find this by going into the main fonts settings on your computer) This particular sentence was chosen because it contains all 26 letters of the alphabet in as few words as possible. That's what plattitude was referring to.
May 18, 2013
The canonical typing drills are "A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" and "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party". However, I wanted the quiz to have exactly 500 characters, so went with slightly non-canonical versions.
Jan 25, 2013
"condemned" gets me every time, because I had always heard "doomed" and my fingers start typing it before I can fix it...
Apr 11, 2015
The Quick brown fox sentence does not contain all 26 letters in as few words as possible. Excluding the use of names and initials, that prize goes to the "Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs" sentence. Even the 'quick brown fox' sentence can be modified to shave off a few of its redundant letters.
Apr 24, 2014
"Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow!" is even shorter than "Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs.'
Apr 24, 2014
Hey, even shorter:
Cwm fjord bank glyphs vext quiz.

Yep, it's a real 26-letter sentence, using each letter only once!

Jun 7, 2015
finally got it....god thats tougher than the 50 states in 1 minute.
Jan 24, 2013
NO WAY. The states one is impossible for me. This one's easy.
Dec 1, 2013
Agreed. I can do them both, but the states one is hard whereas this one's quite easy. I've always been able to type faster than I can think.
Dec 2, 2013
This test is quite unrealistic if you don't have to include the spaces. You're note typing 100 WPM if you're omitting the spaces in between.
Jan 25, 2013
Yes, that's true. (In fact, you're typing 80 WPM if you're omitting the spaces.) If you want to measure your typing speed with this quiz, you must type the spaces. I'd require the spaces if I could, but JetPunk won't let me.
Jan 25, 2013
I wish that this quiz counted the individual words you type, so that you get credit for typing part of the sentence. And I can't type anywhere near fast enough to finish this quiz. It's fun trying though.
Jan 26, 2013
95th percentile.. for those of you who did better than me, just remember: those who live in stone houses should not throw glass.
Jan 28, 2013
too hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feb 4, 2013
Finished with 10 seconds to spare... my fingers hurt >
Apr 20, 2013
YAY! I did all of them!
May 24, 2013
I hate it when you look up and see "the quickkbrownfoxjumpsoverthelazydognowisthetimeforallgoodmentocome....." And then you have to go back and fix the mistake but most of the time its too late and you don't even get a single one.
Oct 12, 2013
I only type 30 words per minute :( 3/10
Nov 9, 2013
One of the funnest quizzes
Feb 26, 2014
7 seconds to spare!
Apr 3, 2014
100% with 4 seconds left :D
Jun 23, 2014
Finally with 00:01 to spare.
Jun 30, 2014
i am the fastest typist i know and i can only get 8/10. however, i am typing spaces because that's how you actually type 100 words a minute, not without spaces.
Jul 2, 2014
I cant get past 5
Jul 28, 2014
I finally finished 'lost' with 3 seconds left. Phew!
Aug 10, 2014
i finally finished on like my 20 try. i can type over 100
Sep 1, 2014
I had 57 seconds left. I swear.
Sep 4, 2014
I had 1 minute left to spare. And a pic for proof.
Nov 3, 2014
FINALLY got 100% (spaces included!) 2 seconds to spare. I have been at this quiz for like 4 days straight, this was very tough to pass.
Oct 8, 2014
Hai How are you i have finally finished 8 sentence in one minute but i am continuously trying to achieve 9 or 10 sentence completely with 1 minute.
Oct 31, 2014
only 3/10 :(
Nov 27, 2014
4/10. so close to the 5th. I dont believe any of u freaks that say u have managed to do more than 7 or 8
Nov 30, 2014
Ah yes, everyone better than me must be cheating.
Apr 9, 2015
I agree. I got the same as you and cant do better.
Apr 9, 2015
I type 'fize dozen' , every...single...time
Feb 3, 2015
All with 5 seconds to spare hehe
Feb 15, 2015
How to complete this quiz easily: stop the timer.
Mar 27, 2015
I finished with 5 seconds to go. Let's see... maths maths maths... that makes me 109 WPM, and I had to go back and correct a mistake.
Apr 9, 2015
If you finished with time to spare, here are your typing skills (assuming you used correct spacing and capitalization): 1 sec = 101.7 WPM, 2 sec = 103.4 WPM, 3 sec = 105.3 WPM, 4 sec = 107.1 WPM, 5 sec = 109.1 WPM, 6 sec = 111.1 WPM, 7 sec = 113.2 WPM, 8 sec = 115.4 WPM, 9 sec = 117.6 WPM, 10 sec = 120 WPM.
Apr 9, 2015
1... more.... second.... and i'd have made it
Apr 11, 2015
I have done 5 sentences
May 16, 2015
done five sentences yet
May 16, 2015
Something's wrong with the second one....
May 25, 2015
this is very difficult
Jun 4, 2015
I dont know if its this quiz in particular but at some point it simply doesnt register the sentence i typed in because there is a word too much - the word from the next sentence. I cant get over 11 seconds plus because at some point it stops registering, so i guess its not even possible to get over 11 seconds plus in this quiz
Jun 5, 2015
ThirdParty, you seem to have AMAZING typing skills!

But can you succeed in this quiz???

Think you can do it?
The challenge is on!

Jun 10, 2015
That doesn't make sense though. If the quiz is reset fine, but people should be able to keep their level regardless.
