Though PSG has won the last several league titles in a row, 8 different clubs have won Ligue 1 this century, while the Serie A, Bundesliga, Premier League and La Liga have each had 5 different champions in that same time frame.

I wish the European leagues could find some way to maintain at least SOME level of parity, instead of having the same clubs buying up all of the best players, and therefore, all of the league championships.

Juventus owns the Serie A. Bayern Munich owns the Bundesliga. PSG has had a stranglehold on Ligue 1 until this year, now that Zlatan is gone. And La Liga is always either Real Madrid or Barcelona, which the occasional cameo by Atletico Madrid. At least now in the Premier League, any one of 5 or 6 different clubs have a legitimate chance.

That's why I say, with all due respect that the Brazilian League, O Brasileirão, is the best of the world. Amongst the top leagues of this planet it is the most thrilling one. You can NEVER predict who's gonna be next season's champion. I can say with minimum chance of mistake the League Champion of the year 2056 in Spain will be Madrid, in Germany Munich, in Italy Juventus, in Holland Ajax, in Portugal Benfica, in Belgium Anderletch but trying to guess Brazil's 2018 Champion gives me a small chance once some 12 different teams have real chances of grabbing the trophy and yet one team out of this top 12 may still upset me.

A good example of what you say is Fluminense. They escaped from relegation only on the last match in 2009 and in 2010 they won the title. In 2012 they were champions and in 2013 they weren't relegated just because... just because

Atlético Mineiro.

And yes, although on these recent years it has created an axis between Palmeiras, Flamengo and Atlético Mineiro, there is always a team trying to get close, like Fluminense, Internacional, Grêmio, São Paulo or Corinthians.

It’s worth to add to the comment of Algarve, that in 2008 Fluminense reached the final of Libertadores, losing it for LDU, and in 2009 they also lost for LDU, but at Sudamericana. The chance of relegation of Fluminense has beaten the 99%, but after an heroic win against Coritiba (that ended up with confusion of the Coritiba’s fans), Fluminense got rid from Série B, and could relegate the Paraná’s club with this result, giving the club the nickname of “Time de Guerreiros” (Warriors’ Team)

And with “just because” we mean the scandal evolving Fluminense, Flamengo and Portuguesa, that relegated the São Paulo’s club (Portuguesa) after the usage of an irregular player. Since to this day, Portuguesa ended up in a big crisis and never came back.

The premier league is won by Man City all the time now and Napoli have just won the Serie A and I don't see Juve winning it again at the moment

in French we usually say "Olympique de Marseille", with the "de" (meaning "of", or "from").

"Olympique lyonnais" is rightfully without "de" since it would translate as "Lyonnese Olympic"
