I found this really tough. Most of these songs, whilst fairly well known, are from the 80's when i was knee high to a grasshopper. I recognise almost all of them (never heard of Ted Nugent or CSF) but I don't know them well enough to guess them from the bandname or the initials.
I would argue that Nugent was never one of the best guitar players, but I agree that he's chosen his politics and obsession with guns over his music career, in terms of what he's going to be remembered for.
Got em all first try, though it took me a minute to figure out I was only supposed to be typing the underlined word. That's what I get for not reading directions I guess.
i know this is completely unrelated but the other day the two classic rock stations here in town were playing the same Eagles song at the same exact time...i've never heard that before. btw it was Life In the Fast Lane. Oh and Ted Nugent SUCKS
Someone needs to do awesome covers of Cat Scratch Fever and Free For All so that we can regard those as the definitive versions and forget Nugent himself ever existed.
I heard that happen about three times over the course of a year where two stations were playing the same classic rock song at the same time. I love classic rock, but the big radio stations really beat the hits into the ground no matter what era of music they're playing.
They were certainly a real punk band. You might argue that their sound had evolved into something else by the time Rock the Casbah was released, but they were prominent in the British punk rock scene in the 70s.
And Genesis were a punk band...
