Perhaps it's a gender thing in France. "Cologne" being the tamer version, for men and "parfum", the stronger one, for women.

"Faux pas" means making a mistake. It doesn't apply only to something which one shouldn't do. It also refers to a snafu of a

legitimate assignment.

I am by no means an expert, but the English description of 'fait accompli' doesn't feel right to me. I would say it is more a certain fact/situation someone is confronted with that cannot be changed anymore. Like being put on the spot.

Fun. Enjoyed that a lot. Should have gotten more than I did.

One quibble: crochet is also French and should work just as well as papier mache. (But I'm not an expert in those arts so maybe not.)

okay moi j'suis français et j'avais que 11 parce que ces definitions n'ont aucun sens

un 'rendez-vous' c'est pas un point où on se rencontre, vis-à-vis veut pas dire 'en relation à',…

jamais entendu 'national razor',…

et 'pertinent' ? à propos ça ne veut dire que 'about' en anglais…

moi j'en ai pas…
