While I'm taking this quiz, the word "Mersey Side" came to my head. While I see the rest of answers, the word "Frankfurt am Main" came, too late, to my head.

Same for me, only without the face-palm. I'm too ignorant to fully appreciate just how ignorant you have to be for that to be completely unfamiliar. Hence, no sense of, "I should have known that!"

There are far too many rivers in that part of the world beginning with M. Moselle, Meuse, Meurthe, Marne... err... maybe just four then.

I typed Malmo, but I got it wrong because I can't type umlauts.

What? Umlauts shouldn't affect the answers, for instance Mänchëstër would work for Manchester.

Grammar doesn’t matter on Jetpunk, for instance, in stead of typing Sáo Tomé and Pricipé, saotome will work.

Does that begin with M? The quiz is asking for answers beginning with M, and in English the name of the mountain begins with an M.

Monte Rosa could also fit the mountain clue. It's on the Swiss-Italian border, and, as the second highest mountain in the Alps, rather prominent.
