For each of the given seas, which countries are closest to them? One sea is left blank and is named after one of its bordering countries - name the country and you will also get a point for the name of that sea.
The Salton Sea's story is remarkable - about 100 years it didn't exist. It then became one of the largest ever man-made mistakes when a canal breach ran out of control, for two years pouring water into what had previously been the Salton Sink.
it's drying up again, and those who remain are living deep in poverty in abandoned buildings or in tiny, and shrinking, communities with bad health. They actually kind of need the Salton Sea to continue to exist.
Thanks for mentioning me! Good choice of seas! I kenw about Ligurian Sea (being Italian) but had never heard of Salton Sea. Got them all except Solomon islands!
I was curious about Monaco-Ligurian Sea because I would have thought that Ligurian Sea continues on part of the French coastline so I'll point out that while the English version of Wikipedia gives the Italy-France border as the limit point, the Italian page (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar_Ligure) mentions that according to 'Italian Navy' (not sure this is the right translation) the limits are larger than the ones according to Internation Organizations.
I was so sure that Tonga was closer to the Tasman Sea than the Solomon Islands, that I stubbornly typed it in over and over again, certain that I had just made a simple spelling mistake.
Please allow "rok" (Republic of Korea) for South Korea and "dprk" (Democratic Popular Republic of Korea) for North Korea, these 2 work on other quizzes.

Thanks again!
The "Sea of Japan" category was blank until after the quiz was over. Then, "Sea of Japan" displayed at the top of the category.
