Fun quiz. Can't believe the ones I got and the ones I missed. Missed Luna and Xeno Lovegood, but got Fang and The Fat Lady. I was really surprised that Buckbeak was mentioned that many times.

I missed some that I knew, and I missed some that I knew the character I wanted, just couldn't remember the first name (Mrs Dursley & Mrs Malfoy as 2 examples). Kreacher I just couldn't remember. I guess "that elf from Sirius' house" wouldn't work? Haha. Fun quiz.

I missed your point completely. They have lots of similar quizzes here on characters from other books or movies. Why would you specify the Bible?

Quizzes like this? On the front page? I can't think of any other than those two.

This seems appropriate to me because of the many similarities. Overlong, overrated tomes. Elaborate works of fiction with many pages and many characters but questionable literary merit; but nonetheless legion of enthusiastic fans. And I sort of wonder if in 2000 years or so they'll be similarly regarded by history. ...either because of Potter's growing significance, or the Bible's diminishing relevance and drift toward the realm of mythology, I intentionally left the comment open for interpretation.

If you check the source link above, it gives the total number of mentions for the top 200, but just to answer your questions: Mrs. Norris = 59 (which would put her at #102) Rowena Ravenclaw = 28 Helga Hufflepuff = 14 Bloody Baron = 24

reply

I wonder if this is only looking at actual names being used. I imagine if "Voldamort's mother" or "Voldamort's snake" counted as being mentioned, then both of those characters would would beat out Morfin or Bob Ogden. But, nevertheless, it was a lot of fun. I can't believe some of the ones that I missed. Thanks Quizmaster.
