putting all of aquatics together is a bit of a misnomer....water polo and synchronized swimming are significantly more different than rowing and kayaking, or shooting and archery, or taekwondo and judo.

Modern Pentathlon is separate from Athletics. The five components are shooting, swimming, running, fencing, and show jumping.

These are different categories of sports. Diving and swimming are not different events in the same sport. Taekwondo and judo are probably more similar.

Taekwondo uses feet, Judo uses hands. Using your logic, Football and Handball should be put together as 'Ballsports'.
