Great quiz!

I reckon you meant "boots" rather than "books," eh?

Kinky Books sounds like it could be a Music Man reference.

I guess I got it wrong because I wasn't too careful, although I do have to point out that there's a typo and it's Kinky "Boots" instead of "Books", and maybe I would have gotten it then ;)

I would have gotten it if the clue had correctly said Boots instead of Books!

That's just an excuse. I got it despite the typo, which I haven't even noticed myself until I read the comments. Goes to show that the brain compensates such mistakes automatically, because it recognizes what was actually meant.

Killing Me Softly is originally a Roberta Flack song. Might be worth adding her to the clue, if just to give credit where it's due.

Actually "Killing Me Softly" was originally a Lori Lieberman song, written in collaboration with Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox.

Written in collaboration in 1971, made famous by Roberta Flack. VERY famous. I just don't understand using the Fugees version as the clue. Only maybe because of the Grammy.

Roberta won 2 grammys with Killing Me Softly -- Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

I've always thought Roberta Flack's version is one of the most beautiful songs ever sung, but I'd never heard the Fugees remake (or cover, as they say now) so to be fair I listened to it. I still believe Roberta wins hands down and deserves the credit.

@ander217 I envy you not knowing the Fugees version. It was ALL OVER the radio where I lived when it came out. I was a kid and didn't know it was a cover. I thought it was unique at first but they overplayed it so much that to this day I still hate the Fugees.

Are you sure you don't want to update the Kesha clue? For instance, maybe use her latest hit, "Praying", but more importantly, she now spells her name like a normal person, and not with the '$'.

I did get klezmer. But always thought it was hungarian/bulgarian. Something eastern european anyway. Never knew its origins lies with yewish culture.

Actually now I might have to look up what/when it is balkan and what/when it is klezmer. I might have used it slightly interchangeably.

I'd personally change Kesha's answer to be spelled without the $. After her legal battle with Dr. Luke, she dropped the $ from her name and uses her name non-stylized.
