The scariest movie I've seen is Event Horizon. On the other hand I never found 6th Sense scary at all. Or Panic Room. I guess people are different.

I agree on both counts - Event Horizon is scary! And I don't understand how the 6th Sense made this list: not only it is not good, it's not even in the horror genre.

I still remember walking out of the theater with a group of friends in the 1970s after seeing Deliverance. Not one of us was saying a word. It might seem tame compared to some films today, but it certainly took the sound away from a group of rowdy college kids back then.

I find almost no films ever to be scary... some are suspenseful... some are moody and atmospheric... but scary? Almost never. Which is why I hate certain films that have NOTHING else going for them... other than "being scary"... but usually just end up being silly, stupid, or gross. Lot of those on this list. But glad to see Fire in the Sky, that one was really well done I thought. But no Cabin Fever? Another well done one that seems closer to being genuinely scary than most of these.

btw... how about loosening up the spelling of Pet Cemetery? I knew they replaced at least one E with an A and the C with an S but had to look it up to get the exact misspelling.
