So, what is Geometry Dash?
Geometry Dash is an indie platformer game made by RobTop games. Players can cycle through 22 normal levels, and 4 platformer levels, where you can go backwards and forwards.
If you want a change of scene, you might want to play online levels made by community. They can be sorted into Gauntlets and Map Packs also.
Alright, so what do I do?
By tapping your screen, or pressing your mouse the character jumps. It can interact with pads, which jump automatically, or orbs, which you tap to get a boost.
Portals and Gamemodes
Just when you think you getting used to this, you find a pink portal. By hopping through it, you suddenly riding a ship. This is just one of the many gamemodes.
Cube: Jump
Ship: Fly by tapping
Ball: Change gravity
UFO: Like cube, but free like a ship
Wave: Hold to go up, let go to go down
Robot: the longer you hold the bigger that jump.
Spider: Like the ball, but instant
Swingcopter: Like the ball, but free
There are also many different portals.
Blue and Yellow: Change gravity
Mirror and Normal: Change direction of the screen
Dual and Single: Changes you from one character to two
Mini and Average: Change the characters size.
Platformer mode
Platformer mode is the ability that lets you go forwards and backwards. Physics still stay the same, but instead of the ship, it gives you a jetpunk. I mean jetpack. Platformer mode lets people create whole games inside of GD, incouraging your to either take your time, or fight in bossfights.
The Tower SPOILER WARNING!
So, youve found an ancient tower and the end of the level screen. Scratch warns you not to go, but you do. You land in a dungeon like area. You must go through different rooms, fighting different monsters until you reach the half way boss fight in the elivators. You get locked in a cage but the cage sucks and escape. You turn into a robot, BLOW UP THIS GUY WHOS JUST CHILLING THERE, And become PacMan. You go into a room, this angry guy comes and you have a big bossfight. They go through different stages, watching out for fireballs, and hitting him with green acid things. Theres also a glitch that makes him stop fighting, but that rare.
Additional conent
Geometry dash has lots of additional content. Gauntlets are unsightreadable levels chosen by Robtop, and map packs are old levels chosen by robtop. They both unlock rewards. There are daily levels, weekly demons- Oh yeah, demons.
Demon Levels
Welcome to the demon world. Its gonna be a nightmare. Demons levels, that feel like your in a slaughterhouse. Being hit by a Tidal wave of obsticles, your gonna feel deadlocked. These levels are so high in difficulty, that its gonna feel like a bloodbath, falling into a abyss of darkness. Some levels are themed around nine circles, and some are as cold as a permafrost mountain. Now, if you want to leave this demon place, be silent.
Spinoff games
After that reference heavy chapter, lets talk about something calmer, these spinoff games. GD has 3 spinoff games, and hopefully a new one coming this year.
Gd meltdown was a preview for 2.0, with levels Seven Seas, Viking Arena, and Arbone Robots
Gd world was a preview for 2.1, with 10 shorts levels spanning Dashlands and Toxic Factory.
Gd subzero was a preview for 2.2 with levels Press Start, Nock em, and Power trip.
Subzero is notable due to its… unique coins, but luckily after a cat who makes soap told him that his coins suck, are terrible, should try harder, be better, he changed them.
Currency (don’t worry no in app purchases)
Orbs: Progress in levels, can be used in shops and paths
Diamonds: Unlock new things
Diamond shards: Gotten from diamonds, can be used in the diamond guys shop
Shard: Unlock new icons, max 100
Secret coin: Gotten from find secret in Robs level
User coin: Gotten from find secret in Users level.
Stars: Gotten from beating levels
Moon: Gotten from beating platformer levels.
Conclusion
Bye everyone!
